Dr. Mike Thomson received his doctorate in Education with a minor in Psychology from The Ohio State University and is the Chairman of two successful companies; Thomson ETC, Inc. - a speaking, coaching and consulting company to business, healthcare, university, K-12 education and sports programs for the past twenty five years and It's All About Character - a product and coaching business that works with parents, K-12 schools, businesses, sports programs, universities and communities who want to develop good character ethics and with groups that want to teach, enforce, advocate and model these principles to others in order to make a difference. “Dr. Mike,” as he is known around the world, has lectured to over 2 million people worldwide and has spoken to or consulted with virtually every type of business, organization or association. As a result of his wide variety of experience, Dr. Mike is a highly sought after speaker, coach and consultant throughout the world.

Dr. Mike has extensive professional experience, including working in the law enforcement and probation field, the public schools, Supervision in the Department of Psychology and Psychiatry at The Mayo Clinic, Director of healthcare centers in Minnesota and Ohio as well as Director of the first American run drug-alcohol treatment program in Europe, located in Knivsta, Sweden just outside of Stockholm. Dr. Mike has been an Adjunct Associate Professor with The Ohio State University and presently with Ashland University offering his highly sought after series of graduate courses, “Strategies For Saving Your SanityÔ in The Classroom” and It’s All About CharacterÔ In The Classroom” for many years. The “Strategies For Saving Your Sanity in The Classroom” course was successfully test marketed with PBS and is now being produced for online distribution.

Dr. Mike was one of the youngest Certified Reality Therapists under the guidance of Dr. William Glasser, founder of Reality Therapy and has provided Reality Therapy workshops and private practice therapy for individuals and families for over 20 years. Dr. Mike is also the host of the award winning PBS series “In Search of Character,” used with middle and high school students and is the co-host of the “The Learning LunchBox” special along with the host, Patricia Richardson from the hit sitcom Home Improvement fame. This special is aimed at helping parents of grades K-8 students to become better learners in the classroom as well as in life.

Dr. Mike was appointed as the national spokesman for the Better Business Bureau’s Center For Character Ethics providing not only keynotes and workshops on “Sanity & Ethics” but also his highly acclaimed “Putting The Better Back In Business Starts With You,” audio and video podcasts being utilized by BBB accredited business owners, managers and employee throughout the country.
